I was looking through the pictures I took today, and realised they are all of animals that I saw as babies and are now past that stage. When we hear "growing season" we generally think of sprouting plants, fresh vegetables, blossoming trees, but it's also the time when the livestock side of things is flourishing. So many births happen in the spring, and summer is full of growth.
Also, we got kittens today! They are living in the silo for now, so as not to get lost or be carried off by large birds. Like everyone else, they will grow up quickly and soon be prowling after the mice. Just what every barn needs.
