I heard a ruckus in the barn this morning, and upon further investigation found Snowy with a new calf. Very new. This is Snowball. (I didn't choose the name. Don't complain to me that he's mostly brown.)
First mozzarella of the season! The rest of my morning mostly consisted of trying to persuade the vacuum sealer that I really did need to package all 36 lbs of it.
Checked on Snowball again, because why wouldn't you. All dry and velvety soft and figuring out how to walk.
Afternoon chores:
And afternoon milking.
Then there was an exciting bit around 7:30 with a call saying there were cows loose. Ross and I headed out to round them up and found Rosemary and Rachael wandering up the lane confused and a little upset. Lincoln showed up at some point to help and set up some additional fencing. Ross and I eventually got the herd back together and settled down a little bit. All in a day's work.
