One of those days where everything takes longer than it should. I felt so bad for Ross, because I was working with him today, and managed to break almost everything I touched. What should have been a relaxing Sunday workload turned out to be running around fixing things. Ah well, it all worked out eventually, and we even finished chores early enough to enjoy the beautiful weather. (Yes, we worked outside all day and still needed to enjoy the weather some more.)
In highlights, I managed to drive one of the tractors all by myself today.

We took a bale of hay out to the Frye barn, and I drove back without Ross. I felt very powerful and scared. But made it back to the main farm just fine.
The Frye barn houses all of the dry cows and calves that have just been weaned.

We then finished chores and evening milking in record time and flew to enjoy the sunshine as long as it lasted. I set up my hammock to have some relaxing reading time, and stayed out until the sun was going down and the air got too chilly.
When I was finally driven inside, I had a delicious meal made up entirely of local food: bread from a local bakery that sells here on the farm, topped with quark and a jam I bought at the market yesterday; along with a salad of fresh greens from the farm and the feta cheese we made this week.
All in all, the day ended very well, and really, dealing with broken equipment is just a part of farm life.
