Forget what I said about other long days. Pieces of cake. Today I started milking at 5:30am and we just finished moving the chickens onto pasture at 9:15pm. That's more like it.
So we moved the layer chickens, which had to be done in the dark so we could actually catch them all. They will now be on pasture for the rest of the green season.
I worked on the water line for the greenhouse field this afternoon. We moved the calves out there a couple days ago, and the broiler chicks this morning. Then all the loose ends had to be tied up: fences electrified, water lines hooked up, etc.

Our biggest excitement for today was that one of the cows was injured. Charlotte, who had a c-section two months ago, got into a tussle with another cow and ended up re-opening part of her wound. So we had to call the vet out, and he kindly stitched her back up for us.
