A pretty relaxed day for me, working in the cheese room in the morning. There was no cheese to be made, just some random things to work on. I packaged the feta that I made, which didn't turn out as well as it could have. It would seem that I lean towards making firm cheeses. But it is still fine, and we eat it and sell it as usual.
Lincoln cut the first hay this week, and today we have shiny new bales piling up in the equipment yard. The weather was nice and sunny this morning while they started baling, but it suddenly started to rain around noon, which put a halt to further work on that. It is supposed to be nice tomorrow, so they will re-rake what's left and hopefully it won't get moldy overnight. I know next to nothing about haying, so I hope to learn more in that area as the season progresses.
