The crow of a rooster now often greets us at the layer chick house, as there is one chicken that will never lay an egg. It often happens that a rooster chick will get mixed in with the hens, as it's rather difficult to tell them apart in the first place. Ours is a rather handsome specimen, although we can be glad he's not down near the house with his zealous proclamations.

Will he stay there forever? Will you eat him? Will you train him to only crow at dawn?

I suspect he'll stay there until the hens are processed and then he'll be processed with them. One of us will eat him but who knows which one....
